Editor's Take
Amazon-style feedback and third-party reviews consistently describe the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 as a powerhouse mobile workstation with desktop-level speed, an excellent keyboard, and strong build quality. PCMag calls it “extraordinarily powerful and versatile,” while StorageReview says it is “exceptionally capable” and particularly impressive for build and screen quality.
Reviewers also flag the tradeoffs shoppers should expect. RTINGS notes that the laptop is bulky and heavy and that the fans get loud under load, and TechRadar says it is best suited to desk-based professionals rather than frequent travelers. Digital Trends similarly highlights very strong performance but points to significant downsides for the cost.
YouTube reviewers on this model echo the same theme: the P16 Gen 2 delivers serious workstation performance for demanding professional workloads, with a fingerprint reader, keyboard, and overall usability that stand out in daily use.
Overall, this is a premium workstation for users who need top-tier CPU and GPU performance, a large high-resolution display, and ThinkPad input quality, not a lightweight everyday laptop.
