Lenovo’s ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 is positioned as a serious mobile workstation, and reviewers consistently describe it as extremely powerful for demanding professional workloads. Notebookcheck says it is one of the fastest 16-inch workstations in its class, while PCMag calls it extraordinarily powerful and versatile.
TechRadar says the P16 Gen 2 delivers top-tier CPU and GPU performance with a comfortable keyboard and strong build quality, but also notes that it is heavy, runs hot under load, and has poor battery life. Digital Trends similarly praises its speed and creativity performance while criticizing its thickness, weight, and display quality.
RTINGS says the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 is an outstanding mobile workstation with a comfortable keyboard and a large, responsive display, but also points out loud fans and bulky portability. StorageReview says it is exceptionally capable and well suited to the most demanding applications, though the price is high.
On Reddit, users describe it as a desktop-level workstation in a portable package and appreciate its ability to handle substantial workloads effortlessly. Across the coverage, the common theme is clear: this ThinkPad is built for professionals who want maximum performance first, and who can accept size, noise, and battery trade-offs.
