Editor's Take
Amazon and Best Buy reviewers generally describe the Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 as a solid business laptop with strong everyday performance, plenty of memory and storage in this configuration, and a comfortable keyboard for office work.
Notebookcheck’s review coverage says the E16 Gen 2 is more of a workhorse than a premium machine, praising its performance, battery life, cooling balance, upgradability, and input devices while noting compromises in display quality and some spec choices.
On Reddit, users reporting first impressions of the ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 mention being very pleased overall, reinforcing the impression that it is well liked for practical productivity use.
At the same time, review coverage and video commentary repeatedly point to drawbacks such as a heavier chassis, modest display brightness/color, and occasional complaints about speakers, touchpad behavior, or Wi‑Fi reception depending on the exact configuration.
Overall sentiment is positive for office, school, and general productivity, especially for buyers who value a sturdy keyboard-focused business laptop over portability or a top-tier screen.
