Editor's Take
Amazon reviewers and hands-on reviewers describe the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook Plus as a 14-inch 2-in-1 that feels more premium than its price suggests, with a comfortable keyboard, sturdy build, and a bright WUXGA touchscreen that works well for school, writing, and everyday browsing.
On Tom’s Guide, the laptop is praised as a cheap Chromebook that still feels durable, with a comfy keyboard and bright display, though performance and battery life are described as only average for heavier multitasking. ITPro says the Flex 5i offers solid performance, a speedy keyboard, and strong value, while also noting that battery life and screen brightness lag behind the best Chromebooks. Thurrott highlights the 16:10 display and the ability to run web, Android, and Linux apps side by side, calling it a good fit for web- and app-centric workloads.
On Reddit, users say the system boots quickly, browsing feels fast and smooth, and the overall performance is satisfying for everyday use, though some mention that the chassis feels a bit thick and heavy. YouTube reviewers also show the Flex 5i as a capable, versatile Chromebook Plus with a smooth hinge and good core usability, while pointing out that battery life and display quality are the main compromises.
- Best for: students, remote workers, and anyone who wants a reliable Chromebook Plus with a premium feel.
- Tradeoffs: battery life, brightness, and raw power are not class-leading.
- Overall: a well-rounded 2-in-1 Chromebook that wins on comfort, build quality, and everyday speed.
